Artificial turf, also known as fake grass, is really popular in Las Vegas due to the high maintenance cost and the lack of rainfall. Residents settle for artificial grass because they don't have to maintain it at all or spend a lot of money watering it.
Real grass is hard to maintain in high Vegas temperatures so it dies during hot summer months. This leaves your backyard or driveway looking ugly and yellow. Most HOA will hound you down and pressure you to replace the grass which leads to an expensive bill.
Unlike natural grass, you don’t have to worry about weeding, mowing, and maintaining the grass so most homeowners settle for fake grass.
One of the most popular landscaping requests is a combination of pavers and artificial turf which looks amazing in any area you put it.
Landscaping in the area has gone up in price so an average price for pavers with artificial grass is around $8 per sq. ft. Installing around pavers takes more detail and precision than regular turf installation so be prepared to pay a little more.
This price can go up even more if you settle for higher quality material or if a lot of work is required to prepare your area for installation.
There are 2 basic ways of installing pavers and they both have their pros and cons. The first one, which we don't recommend, is to measure and cut precise pieces of turf and lay them around pavers. This method limits waste but is not as secure since each piece has to be connected precisely.
Artificial grass comes in large rolls so the second method is to lay those rolls over the pavers, outline the edges, cut the outline and then tuck the grass in. This method is preferred becasue it is a lot more secure and stable since it is in 1 major piece.
The video below illustrates turf installation which follows the second and preferred method.
